Want to keep chickens in your backyard? 

Chickens are only allowed on lands:

  • over 2 acres in size and
  • zoned as Controlled Urban Development District (CUD).

*The CUD District lands are shown in grey on the Town's zoning map below.

If your lands meet the above requirements, you may apply for development permit to keep chickens. Please apply on the 2nd floor of the Town of St. Paul Office at 5101-50 Street.

How can I check the zoning of my lands?

2025 Municipal Election Notice

Residents of the Town of St. Paul will vote for one Mayor and six Councillors. An Advance Vote will be held on October 10, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the St. Paul Recreation Centre. Election Day voting will take place on October 20, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., also at the St. Paul Recreation Centre. Voter identification is required - click the button below.
