Region of St. Paul Notification/Alert System

July 23 2015
The Region of St. Paul has purchased a state of the art Notification and Alert system. The Town/County of St. Paul, Town of Elk Point and Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay have had designated staff take the training on the operation of the system, and it’s overall development of the site. The system is now ready for the public to sign-up and subscribe to receive Notifications and Alerts. You will receive Alerts that will notify you of any potential type of life threatening events, such as a tornado warning or watch in our area. As for the Notifications, it’s what you as an individual select to receive, such as Municipal Office Hour, or garbage day changes.
A lot of homework was done ahead of time to see if this system was a fit for the Region of St. Paul. Director of Emergency Management Rob Duffy commented “we spoke to a lot of other Municipalities that are currently using the system and seen the benefits. For us to be able to send out an early Alert to warn the public of an immediate threat that could save a lot of lives, was the big selling feature”. Municipalities such as High River used their system to warn the public of the flooding that took place in 2013.

You can subscribe by going on-line to www.stpaul.ca.

Regional Emergency Management will have a table set up at the St. Paul Co-op mall on Wednesday July 29th from 9:00am to 4:00pm to assist people with subscribing.
