Why is the Land Use Bylaw being reviewed by Council?
Since 2019, the Land Use Bylaw (LUB) was reviewed to provide greater clarity and consistency that reflects contemporary land use planning and development practices. The LUB regulates and controls the use and development of land and buildings. It is common for the LUB to be updated regularly to ensure rules are reasonable, effective, and reflect new trends in building & site design. This new document will replace the existing LUB #1242 & the applicable amendments to it.
The purpose of the Special Council Meeting is to hold a public hearing to obtain public input on proposed Bylaw 2021-04 being the Land Use Bylaw:
