On a more positive note: In 2019 the St Paul 2nd Harvest Project kept over 52,000 Kilograms of "wet waste" out of the landfill by collecting and re-distributing fruit and vegetables that were no longer shelf worthy. About 80% or 42,000 Kilograms of fruit and vegetables was provided to the Food Bank, 2nd Harvest Volunteers, Saddle Lake Elementary School and Glen Avon School. About 10,000 Kilograms of fruit and vegetables that were no longer edible were provided to the St Paul Community Garden for Composting.
